Tom Reich Tom Reich , Collection Development Coordinator/Associate Professor, is this year’s recipient of the Justus and Barbara Paul Sabbatical Grant. Tom's sabbatical project, "Quiet Warriors: a Comparative Examination of American University USAID efforts to reform higher education in Vietnam," will focus on the USAID mission to assist in reforming the South Vietnamese system of higher education as part of the broader “nation-building” process. Tom will evaluate archival materials held at several universities having long-term USAID educational contracts during the Vietnam era, including, Ohio University, Ball State University, and Southern Illinois University. Tom will also visit the Library of Congress and  NARA (National Archives and Records Administration) in Washington D.C. The Justus F. and Barbara J. Paul Faculty Award is in recognition and support of an outstanding Letters and Science or Library faculty member granted sabbatical. The Justus F....

The University Library has two Nook Color ereaders available for checkout. The Nooks are loaded with 30 young-adult novels, including The Hunger Games trilogy. The award-winning ebooks feature popular authors such as Neil Gaiman and John Green. The Nooks can be checked out for seven days. Chancellor Patterson presents Library with book gift

UW-Stevens Point Chancellor Bernie Patterson presented the University Library with a book, “The complete novels,” by Flann O’Brien (with an introduction by Keith Donohue), in dedication to Kevin P. Reilly, the UW System’s sixth president. This book is one of a collection of books on Irish history, literature and culture that was a gift from all the UW Chancellors to President Reilly on his leaving the UW System.  Each book has a personalized plate from one of the Chancellors and has been in turn gifted by Reilly to each UW library. The book is signed by the chancellor and is located in our Rare Books/Archives area and is non-circulating.
