Public Invited to David Obey Presentation

Former Congressman David Obey’s extensive papers will be available to the public at the UW-Stevens Point University Library in the Archives and Area Research Center. The public is invited to a presentation at 1 p.m. Friday, May 15 , on the sixth floor of the Library. View photos, news clippings and historical documents of former congressman’s public service. Obey will be present.  Speakers include Chancellor Bernie Patterson, Eric Giordano from Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service; Matt Blessing from the Wisconsin Historical Society; and several UW-Stevens Point representatives whose programs were launched with Obey’s support.  Following the presentation, a portion of the collection will be available for viewing in the University Archives on the fifth floor of the University Library. Today we feature  Christina Luna: Name: Christina Marie Luna Hometown: Siren, WI Major : American Studies What was your practicum like? My practicum was fun and super interesting. What is your interest in librarianship? My interest in librarianship stems from my passion for knowledge and information. I really enjoyed reference desk because I was able to help others access scholarly information. The library is a wealth of knowledge and knowledge is power. What are your plans for next semester? My plans for next semester are to study abroad in Szeged, Hungary. Which talent would you most like to have? I would love to have the ability to ballet dance. What is your current state of mind?
