Movie description: The Nelis R.
Kampenga University Archives and Area Research Center will be hosting a public screening of "This is Our Town: Stevens
Point, WI" with a brief intro by UWSP History Professor, Dr.
Neil Prendergast. This one-hour long movie was shot in Stevens Point in
September 1954 by traveling movie producer Robert M. Carson. The movie focuses
on progress and pride in Stevens Point’s industry, business, recreation
facilities and places of interest as a means of boosterism for the city. It
highlights residents at work and play, and identifies over 100 residents by
name. The film was recently digitized from its original 16mm format by Holder
Printworks of Madison.
