National Library Week (April 19 - 25)


 
The UWSP Libraries joins libraries nationwide to celebrate National Library Week (April 19-25) highlighting how libraries continue to remain relevant during the COVID-19 temporary closures. The theme this year is “Find the Library at your Place” through virtual services and digital content for our community.

In this time of crisis, the UWSP Libraries has responded quickly to the needs of the campus in innovative and inspiring ways by providing e-resources, virtual reference service, e-books, streaming videos, research guides, and online instruction through tutorials, videos, and tailor-made library guides for specific courses.

Please join us in celebrating with some of the online activities for the week:

MONDAY
  • Share your support for libraries across the nation using the hashtag #LibrariesStrong  
  • Post an e-resource you’ve used that has made a difference while you’re social distancing at home.

TUESDAY
  • It’s National Library Workers Day! Use the hashtag #NLWD20 with any words of gratitude for all library workers.
  • Shout out to our friends at the Portage County Public Library 


WEDNESDAY
  • Book face Wednesday! Find a book cover with a good strategic pose to match and post in the comment section. Here’s a link for some inspiration! Use the hashtag #bookfacewednesday
  • Earth Day! The Libraries will share some online resources related to Earth Day. Read more about the history of Earth Day here

THURSDAY
  • #ThrowbackThursday highlighting the Libraries’ history with archival photos.
  • We will feature the branch campus libraries and librarians and how they are celebrating National Library Week.

FRIDAY
  • April is also National Poetry Month. What’s your favorite poem? Post in the comments using the hashtag #NationalPoetryMonth
