Welcome Students to the Fall Semester!
The UWSP Libraries are happy you are here, and we are here to help you. We are excited to offer some fun social activities during Welcome Week, and further below are some brief library tips of resources and services we offer to help you get started for a successful year. Remember, we are here for you. Please never hesitate to ask for help with any type of question – small or big.

Classic Video Games!
(1st flr – Albertson Hall/Library Reference Room Area)
Join us for some classic video games! These
will be available from noon-5 for your enjoyment. Please sign in when you
arrive. Other than that, here is what we’ll have running that day.

Calligraphy Bookmarks!
(3rd flr – Albertson Hall/Library IMC area)
Have your name (first) printed in Chinese
Characters in Calligraphy on a bookmark for you to keep. Librarian Yan Liao
will be on hand from noon – 2:00 p.m. to create your beautiful bookmark as a
keepsake with your first name. A great way to hold your place in a book or to
hang on a bulletin board. These are free for you!
Trivia Adventure
(Start at Circulation Desk – 1st flr of Albertson Hall/Library)
Pick up an answer sheet and try your hand
at the Library Trivia Scavenger Hunt open from Noon – 5 p.m. You will solve
questions with clues about the Library and some items you will find online. If
you answer all the questions correctly, your name will be entered into a
drawing for a small reward!
For students who may prefer a virtual
return to campus, we have some items for you here in this helpful guide that includes
a video tour, useful resources, and some rest and relaxation items to enjoy. Check it
all out right here!

LIBRARIES SERVICES AND ACADEMIC RESOURCES
Research Support - Stop by the Reference Desks at each of our campus libraries where reference librarians are there to help with any assignments, research projects, and papers. We also offer a popular chat service, or you can email or call. You can chat here www.uwsp.edu/library/chat or text at 715-602-3542. In addition, we provide:
One-on-one research consultations with students
Subject & Course Guides: research guides
with resources tailored for a particular course or subject
Study Spaces - We offer a lot of study spaces,
including quiet study areas and group study rooms.
Checking out materials -
you may check out materials from our library at the Circulation Desk on the
first floor. You may also borrow materials from other UW libraries.
Information Literacy Skills -
We do offer credit courses in information literacy skills for college research.
Good classes to take to understand how to use and evaluate library
resources.
E-Resources – We offer
many e-resources including e-books, streaming video, journals, databases, digital
collections and more. You can explore these through our Libraries Homepage and
through Search@UW the main search box in the homepage.
