April Celebrations at the Library: Join Us for National Library Week, Poetry Day, Awards, and Earth Day!

April is “everything” month as we fondly call it in the Library. It's a month packed with various celebrations and events,  including National Poetry Month, National Jazz Month, National Library Week, Earth Day, and many more awareness and appreciation days.

Here’s what we have in store for you:

National Library Week (April 7-13):

Help us fill the shelves of our campus food pantry by participating in our collaboration with The Cupboard. Drop off non-perishable food items at our Circulation Area (CCC 130) during this week.

John Anderson Community Spirit Award

Calling all UWSP undergraduates! Apply for our $500 award showcasing innovation in your research process, whether through a writing piece or creative work. Deadline for applications is April 8th. Find out more here

National Poetry Month – Poem-In-Your-Pocket Day (April 18):

Thanks to a generous grant from WiLS Ideas to Action, we're celebrating Poem-In-Your-Pocket Day with our community partners throughout Central Wisconsin. Join us in reading and sharing poems, fostering connections through the power of poetry. Learn more about our event here

Earth Day (April 22)

Let's honor our planet and our collective responsibility to safeguard the environment and our future. Explore our collections related to Earth Day and environmental topics.

We are excited to bring these events and opportunities to our campus community and beyond, and we encourage everyone to get involved!

Happy April!
