Open Access publishing makes scholarly work freely available to anyone with an internet connection—no paywalls, no institutional barriers.

For researchers, that means broader visibility, wider readership, and greater potential impact for your work.

The UWSP Library has renewed its Open Access publishing agreement with Wiley for another two years, making it easier for UWSP authors to publish Open Access without paying article processing charges (APCs).

What the Wiley agreement includes

  • Free access to Wiley journals through the library’s subscription

  • No-cost Open Access publishing of articles submitted by UWSP corresponding authors

  • Published articles are free to read, share, and reuse worldwide

  • Increased visibility, reach and impact of your research

What does this mean for you?

  • If you are the author of an article approved by Wiley for publication, the library's agreement with Wiley can cover the article processing charge (APC)  when you publish Open Access in eligible journals.

How to get started

  1. Submit your manuscript to an eligible Wiley journal 

  2. Choose Open Access during the publication process

  3. Identify your UWSP affiliation when prompted

We are very excited to announce that the main campus library will be named the Mary Reinhart University Library , opening in late 2026 when we move into the new Library and Student Resource Center building. This new name recognizes the extraordinary generosity of Mary E. Reinhart , whose estate gift will impact generations of UW-Stevens Point students. Through her gift to the UWSP Foundation, Mary created two endowed scholarships designed to meet students where they are and open doors to their future: The Mary E. Reinhart Retention Scholarship , which provides immediate financial assistance to students facing unexpected emergencies—so one obstacle doesn’t force them to abandon their education.
