Celebrating Women’s History Month

Women’s History Month begins today, and here at the UWSP Libraries, we’re excited to honor the leadership and creativity of women whose work is expanding what sustainability can mean.

The 2026 Women’s History Month theme, “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future,” invites us to think about sustainability in a broader way: building systems that support people and the planet, strengthening institutions that serve communities over the long term, and ensuring equitable access to opportunity and power.

UWSP Keynote Event: Soaring Beyond Limits

We’re pleased to feature a campus keynote that embodies this expansive view of sustainability: Soaring Beyond Limits with Amelia Rose Earhart — UW–Stevens Point Women’s History Month event.

  • Speaker: Amelia Rose Earhart — professional speaker, pilot, author, and artist
  • Title: Soaring Beyond Limits
  • When: Tuesday, March 3, 4:30–5:30 p.m. (doors open at 4:15 p.m.)
  • Where: Dreyfus University Center, 1015 Reserve St., Stevens Point
  • Cost: Free and open to the public

Inspired by her famous namesake, Earhart completed a solo flight around the world and has since devoted her career to helping others step into leadership and confidence. In her recent book Learn to Love the Turbulence: “Flight Lessons” on Becoming the Pilot in Command of Your Own Journey, she shares life lessons drawn from aviation that encourage agility, courage, and resilience.
