University Library Move: What to Expect April 6–12

We’re getting close to opening the new Library & Student Resource Center (SRC), and the move is officially underway.

During the week of April 6–12, library services will be temporarily adjusted or closed as the remaining collections, equipment, and staff transition into the new building.

What to expect:

The library will be closed April 8–12. During this time, you will not be able to check out materials, pick up holds, or access print Course Reserves.

What’s impacted:

  • Library Closed: April 8–12
    • Services and collections reopen in the SRC on Monday, April 13
  • Circulation & Course Reserves:
    • No item checkout or hold pickup April 8–12
    • Print Course Reserves unavailable April 8–12
    • Lending paused April 10–14. Please encourage faculty/students to pick up held materials by April 7 or plan to pick them up after April 13
  • Reference Desk:
  • Archives:
    • Closed April 6–12
    • Reopening April 13 in the SRC.

Returns:
Materials can be returned to:

  • SRC exterior book returns (West or South entrances), or
  • CCC exterior book return (south side, facing Parking Lot E)

Check Out a Wisconsin State Park Pass!

I n celebration of Earth Week, UWSP Libraries are participating in the Check Out Wisconsin State Parks at Your Library program, which allows Point Card holders to visit Wisconsin state parks, recreation areas, and forests for free. This includes access to thousands of miles of hiking, biking, and water trails. How to Check Out a Pass: Passes are available (while supplies last) at the circulation desks at all three campus library locations during business hours: Main Campus: CCC 130   Marshfield Campus: Library Wausau Campus: Library A Point ID Card is required to check out a pass. Each pass is valid for one day of your choosing and covers one vehicle . Passes allow entry to state parks, forests, and recreation areas but cannot be used for buses . We are very excited to announce that the main campus library will be named the Mary Reinhart University Library , opening in late 2026 when we move into the new Library and Student Resource Center building. This new name recognizes the extraordinary generosity of Mary E. Reinhart , whose estate gift will impact generations of UW-Stevens Point students. Through her gift to the UWSP Foundation, Mary created two endowed scholarships designed to meet students where they are and open doors to their future: The Mary E. Reinhart Retention Scholarship , which provides immediate financial assistance to students facing unexpected emergencies—so one obstacle doesn’t force them to abandon their education.
